Describe your family/extended family Married for 44 years to my wife Linda, two children, Krista and Brett, four grandchildren. Still very close with my brothers and sister.
How have you gained knowledge or continued your education after high school? After I received an award for “most improved academically” at AHS, I felt that I probably needed to do something academic. I went to Pasadena City Collage, then on to the University of La Verne (where my parents met). I went into education, teaching physical education & history. I had the opportunity to do my student teaching and coached at AHS. I left Alhambra to teach in Apple Valley, met Roy Rogers the first day in town and stayed. I taught and work on more credentials at Cal State Long Beach (MA), Cal State San Bernardino, and UCLA Principal’s Academy
What would like to share about your life's work? I enjoyed the teaching field for forty years.
What special interests and/or activities have you enjoyed during the last half century? Sports, travel, raising a family and learning about wine.
Please share the highlights of the places you've lived or traveled South America the Galapagos Islands & Machu Picchu, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Greece and the United States
What is your favorite AHS Memory? The teachers and friends I met.
What are your favorite books or movies? Hard to list all the movies & books, but the Rutherfurd books and “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
What were your favorite songs or artists from 1960 to 1964. What genre of music and type of dance do you enjoy most? We had great music in the ’60’s, surf sounds and then Jimmy Buffet.
How do you spend your quality time? Walking & being outside, gardening, reading and wine tasting and enjoying friends.
In your life thus far, what stands out as most significant, growth-producing, moving, or heart-opening? Raising a family and traveling with them, meeting former students and friends.
What matters most to you about the life you've lived? My wife Linda and family.
As you move forward into the future, what are your aspirations, hopes, dreams? Stay healthy and continue doing what I am doing. Love Life.
What do you still hope to accomplish or experience? (What's left on your bucket list?) I have been fortunate to accomplish a number on the bucket list. I still want to walk the Highlands of Scotland.
