Name: Karen Scheltens Holvey After graduating from Alhambra High, I went directly to beauty college. All during high school that seemed to be what destiny had in store for me. I attended Al Tate Beauty School in Pasadena. I loved doing hair and make up and included permanent and corrective cosmetics in 1989. I moved to Huntington Beach in 1990 where I worked for a cosmetic surgeon in Newport Beach and also a salon in Huntington Beach. I opened my own school for permanent make-up in 1994 and also a personal business (clinic) where we do procedures. I work with my son, Jeff Becker, and still love the profession that I chose all those years ago. During the last 25 years I have written numerous workbooks and magazine articles for the esthetics industry and have hosted many workshops throughout the US as well as platform work at trade shows. My biggest accomplishment has been working with various plastic surgeons and insurance companies in the Newport Beach area helping mastectomy patients. I truly love my work. I am really looking forward to my 50th reunion. I can not believe it's been that long and I feel like I am still going strong. See you all there! |
